Learning To Run Barefoot
Here’s a great coaching video on how to get started running barefoot.  It has been done by a company that sells barefoot style running shoes, but there’s little product “pushing” and a lot of good information.  I haven’t tried the Terra Plana shoes; they’re a little pricey for my taste. However, I do use the Vibram KSO’s for my runs.  They look...

Ironmaster Dumbbells and Super Bench
I’ve been using the Ironmaster adjustable dumbbells and super bench for about four months now. Let me start by saying that I am in no way affiliated with Ironmaster.  I say that now because this will most likely read like a sales pitch. I cannot say enough good things about this set. Since the day my Ironmaster setup arrived (well packaged) I have not had one complaint.  You can tell the...

Google - ready. set. evil?
Here’s a link to Google’s response to their Verizon-partnered network neutrality policy: http://googlepublicpolicy.blogspot.com/2010/08/facts-about-our-network-neutrality.html I don’t know Google, it still doesn’t look good to me.  As a HUGE Google fanboy, this is very disappointing. Hopefully they’ll turn this around and do what is right. Posted via email ...

From Tumblr to Posterous
I made the switch from tumblr.com to posterous.com for my site.  No particular reason for the change, just change of pace and something new to tinker with, I guess.  So far I’m really liking it.  It’s free and easy to setup, so give it a shot if you’ve got something to say. Netbook Review: Asus EeePC 1201N
After using my EeePC 1201N for a couple of months I’ve decided to write up a quick, non-technical review.  Let me start by saying that I love this netbook.  I previously had an EeePC 1005-ha and the difference between the two is night and day.  In fact, it’s really hard to consider the 1201N a netbook.  It really is more like an “ultra-portable” laptop.  Weighing in at just...

Facebook Privacy Changes →
If you haven’t checked your facebook privacy settings in a while, you should probably take a look.  They have once again “opened up” their data sharing policy, this time with third-party sites. I disagree with their policies and am considering deleting my account in protest.  There is something very unsettling to me about facebook and the amount of personal data they are taking...

Must Have Android Apps
Here’s a list of my favorite Android apps: 1. CardioTrainer / SportyPal - I like both of these apps but have been using SportyPal the most lately.  I like that I can upload and share my workouts if wanted.  The voice updates on distance and time while running is great.  If you are a runner/cycler, this is a definite must have. 2. Pandora - You cannot go wrong with a rock solid music...

Root your DROID
If you have friends with the Nexus One and/or Android 2.1, there is no reason to be jealous.  Not after you root your Droid.  What is rooting? Basically, it is getting administrator access to your phone’s operating system.  It allows you to put new, updated and/or hacked software on your phone.  It gives you the opportunity to run applications that cannot be run on a stock DROID....

HIIT Dumbbell Rush
I haven’t tried this workout before but it looks very similar to workouts I’ve done in the past.  I usually like to do full-body weight sessions but I’m a firm believer in changing up workouts frequently to keep the muscles guessing and reduce boredom.  I did a search for “high intensity dumbbell workout” and this is what I came up with.  It looks like it has all the...

Malware making its rounds
I have come across a piece of malware quite frequently lately.  It generates a pop-up about your computer being infected with a virus.  My most frequent encounter was with the Antivirus Soft version.  In a nutshell, the pop-ups are actually the malware and by clicking on anything in the pop-up you are telling it to install thus causing more problems.  If you see a pop-up while browsing the...

Google Buzz
Google released a new product yesterday called Buzz. It will automatically be integrated into your GMail inbox.  It hit my inbox this morning and looks to be promising.  Buzz gathers social information from you and your friends and groups it all together in a live stream.  This stream is located in the new Buzz folder in GMail.  At the moment it seems like it could be a lot of information for...

"Crush It!" Book Review
I finished reading “Crush It! Why now is the time to cash in on your passion”, by Gary Vaynerchuk the other day and thought I would share my feelings on the book. First off, I really enjoyed reading this book. Gary’s enthusiasm comes across in his writing and it made for a very energetic read. In his book, Gary lays out how to “Crush It” in social media and become a...

Supplements
There are a couple of supplements on my “take daily” list. After many years of reading this and that about health and nutrition, these supplements are what I personally deem to be beneficial. I’m not going to get into why I take them, or what benefits each has, but if you’re interested, pick up a copy of Men’s Health (or any health magazine/book) or do a quick Google...

The Spartacus Workout →
This has been my workout for the past month.  Doing 3 sets really sucks and I am almost never able to finish all 60 secs of every exercise.  However, it is a great workout and definitely recommended.  Give it a shot if you’ve got some fat to burn!

a new start - dustinspero.com
Hello All- I started reading Gary Vaynerchuk’s book, “Crush It! Why now is the time to cash in on your passion,” and it turned me on to tumblr.  Tumblr looks like an excellent platform and I cannot believe I haven’t tried it before.  So here I start another attempt at blogging. My plans this time around include attempting some video blogging.  I’ll still most likely...
